Vivid Sydney 2016

Another Vivid Sydney Festival has come and gone.  Here’s a highlight reel from the annual event.

Being, as I am, easily distracted by shiny objects, I love this sort of thing!

Here are some of the images that were projected on the Sydney Opera House during the festival.  All photos were found on the Web.

Vivid Sydney is an annual festival of lights, now in its fifth year.  After a shaky start,  the event has blossomed into a phenomenally successful festival of 21st century creative arts that brought in more than 800,000 visitors and some $20 million to the New South Wales economy in 2013.

This year, it runs from 23 May 2014 to 9 June 2014, so there’s still time to rush to Australia for the final days.  But remember, it’s early winter Down Under.

Here’s a video showing the scene from the harbour at the Sydney Opera House.  It’s most enjoyable if you kill the sound, and provide your own soundtrack.

And this is a great overview of the entire event.
