I saw Frazier Chorus at the original 9:30 Club in DC, during a time of my life when I could be found there two or three nights a week. “Sloppy Heart” was always my favourite song of theirs, and it’s been on my mind all day today, maybe because the tense, subtle subtext brings back some interesting memories, or maybe just because it’s gorgeous.
The video above is for the version of “Sloppy Heart” that was released by Virgin records. I much prefer the original, longer version from Frazier Chorus’s days with indie label 4AD. There’s no video, but here’s the song.
