Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children — First Trailer

It’s a good trailer, but I’m mixed on this one.  I liked, but didn’t love, Ransom Riggs’ Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, when it was published five years ago.  It had its moments, but it left me without any overwhelming desire to read the two sequels.

Tim Burton, who’s had a generally unimpressive decade, directed the film version.   The cast, on the other hand, looks great:  The superb Eva Green plays Miss Peregrine, and Chris O’Dowd, Allison Janney, Rupert Everett, and Judi Dench are involved.  Asa Butterfield plays Jacob Portman, the lead.    Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter are nowhere to be found.

Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children hits theatres on 30 September 2016.
