Spring Comes to Washington

The Washington Post’s website this morning had this headline:   “We declare winter over and spring here, effective today.”  Seems that there’s v little likelihood of snow or severe cold in the next few weeks.  This Thursday is predicted to hit 80 degrees.

Washington’s weather this year has been as erratic and unreliable as Washington’s Metro. February had a mix of days in the high 60s with days when the city was shut down by a blizzard.

Today was beautiful.  I walked through the neighborhood this afternoon, looking for signs of spring.

Found some:

My Mother always told me that when I saw the first robin of the year, spring had arrived.

My Mother was never wrong.
