GoPro du Jour — No French People Were Seriously Injured in the Making of this Video

Four French hikers survived a 8.3 meter (27 foot) fall from a New Zealand suspension bridge with only scratches and bruises, when a cable gave way.  The whole thing was captured by a GoPro camera.

That fall must have scared the hell out of them.  it looks like it could easily have turned fatal.

(I hate it when people who survive this kind of thing are described as “lucky”.  If they were lucky, they wouldn’t have fallen in the first place.)

There’s a clear moral here:

Never, never, never speak French before crossing a suspension bridge.
(Jamais , jamais, jamais parler français avant de traverser une pont suspendu.)
