Thanks to the National Literacy Trust, London has yet another wonderful new attraction this summer. The Books about Town project has decorated the city w/50 unique BookBench sculptures, designed “to celebrate London’s literary heritage and reading for enjoyment”. The benches are designed to look like open books, and each seat references a British book or writer.
You can see pictures of each BookBench, w/notes about the book, author, and artist, at the BookBench site. Here are some samples:
The BookBenches will be on display until 15 September 2014, and then be sold at public auction in October.
