Well that was different….
Zengo is Richard Sandoval’s Latin-Asian restaurant. Chef Sandoval was a semi-finalist for the James Beard “Outstanding Restaurateur” award, as well as the Cordon d’Or “Restaurateur of the Year” in 2011. and was Bon Appetit’s Restaurateur of the Year in 2006. He was named one of the “Best Chefs of 2003” by New York Magazine.
You’re not likely to enter a “Latin-Asian” with a lot of firmly established preconceptions, which makes this an ideal place to pursue the endless search for SOMETHING NEW.
The food was excellent. The portions were small. I’d go back.
